I opened my Pocket Option account in 2023. Since then, I’ve deposited several times via crypto, and I’ve placed many trades on it. Now, I’m not someone who trades binary options every day, but I’ve also requested many withdrawals over the years.
So, this Pocket Option review is built on my personal account and experience, not on the broker’s marketing page. I’ll cover the things most Pocket Option reviews skip, such as who actually runs Pocket Option and what its license is really worth. I’d also tell you a little secret about how the broker really makes money from your trades, and some issues I encountered when I tried to get my money out.
Quick Verdict
If you want my quick verdict on Pocket Option, the platform is one of the smoothest I’ve used, and most of my withdrawals arrived in time.
What works: a smooth, fast platform and withdrawals that mostly arrived on time.
What to watch: Pocket Option is an offshore broker with a long list of regulator warnings against it.
So, take a smart and careful approach, and understand exactly what that means before you deposit a single dollar.
This score comes from my personal experience and is based on safety, withdrawals, platform, costs and support.
- Best for: experienced traders outside restricted countries who want a fast, simple platform and fully accept offshore risk.
- Not for: anyone who needs regulated protection, traders in India (Pocket Option is on the RBI Alert List), or anyone trading money they can’t afford to lose.
- Biggest risk: no top-tier regulator. It only holds an offshore MISA licence, and regulators including the FCA, CONSOB and the CFTC have warned against it.
- The real cost: there are no commissions, but at a 92% payout you need to win 52.1% of your trades just to break even.
- Withdrawals: Most of my crypto withdrawals took a few hours to arrive.
- Last tested: September 2026.
Disclosure: We earn a commission if you open an account through our links. That doesn’t change my verdict, and I’ve tried to be as upfront about the risks as I am about the good parts.

Is Pocket Option Legit and Safe?
Let me start with the question that matters most, because everything else in this Pocket Option review depends on it. Pocket Option is not licensed by any major financial regulator. So, it’s not licensed by the FCA, CySEC, or ASIC. The company holds an offshore license, and that’s a very different level of protection from what you’d get with a regulated broker. So, Pocket Option is not regulated.
You might also want to know who’s actually behind the platform, because the company has changed names and jurisdictions a few times. Here’s a brief overview of what I’ve found on the internet about the company over the years (they could be wrong, but these are just based on my personal research):
| Period | Entity | Jurisdiction |
|---|---|---|
| 2017 to 2023 | Gembell Limited | Marshall Islands |
| 2023 onward | Infinite Trade LLC | Costa Rica |
| Licensing entity | PO Trade Ltd | Registered with MISA, Comoros |
| FCA warning, February 2026 | Pocket Option | Address listed in Castries, Saint Lucia |
Changing names and jurisdictions is usually a scam signal. But it’s not enough on its own to rule a company as fraudulent. Still, it does make it harder to know who you’d actually take a dispute to if something went wrong.
You’ll also see IFMRRC mentioned on our website or Pocket Option’s own website, and in a lot of reviews. The IFMRRC is a private organisation, not a government financial regulator. It can’t license a broker, and it can’t force one to pay you, so I don’t count it as regulation.
But what does the MISA license mean for you? Well, MISA is an offshore licensing authority on the island of Mohéli in the Comoros. Put simply, it lets the company operate. It isn’t a compensation scheme. So, if Pocket Option ever refused your withdrawal, there’s no investor protection fund standing behind you, the way there would be with a regulated broker in the UK or the EU.
On top of that, several financial regulators have publicly listed Pocket Option as not authorised in their country:
| Country | Regulator | Status |
|---|---|---|
| India | Reserve Bank of India (RBI) | On the RBI Alert List of unauthorised forex trading platforms |
| United Kingdom | Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) | Not authorised, on the FCA Warning List |
| United States | CFTC | Not registered, listed by the CFTC |
| Italy | CONSOB | Not authorised |
| Spain | CNMV | Not authorised |
| France | AMF | Not authorised |
| Belgium | FSMA | Not authorised |
| Brazil | CVM | Not authorised |
| Malaysia | Securities Commission (SC) | Not authorised |
| Canada | Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) | Not authorised |
| Nigeria | Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) | Public warning, July 2025: not registered or licensed |
Trading from India? Read this twice.
Pocket Option is on the RBI Alert List, which covers platforms that aren’t authorised to deal in forex under FEMA or to operate electronic trading platforms in India. So, this isn’t a grey area I can wave away for you. Quotex, Binomo and IQ Option are on the same list, which means switching to one of them doesn’t solve the problem. I’m not a lawyer, so check the rules that apply to you before you trade.
So, is Pocket Option a scam? Based on my own account, no. I deposited, traded, and got paid out. But “not a scam” and “safe” aren’t the same thing. It’s an offshore broker without top-tier regulation, and if something goes wrong, you’re relying on the company’s goodwill rather than a regulator.

How Does Pocket Option Make Money?
Another thing you might’ve noticed is that Pocket Option doesn’t charge commissions on trades, like forex brokers or crypto exchanges. It doesn’t charge fees on deposits or withdrawals either. That sounds great until you ask the obvious question: how does it make money?
The answer is pretty simple. The broker is the other side of your trade. When you lose, Pocket Option keeps your stake. When you win, it pays you less than you risked (The payout is always below 100%). That gap is the real cost of trading, and it’s built into every single trade you place.
Let’s put numbers on it. Say you trade $10 on EUR/USD at a 92% payout:
- If you win, you make $9.20.
- If you lose, you lose the full $10.
So, every win makes you a bit less than every loss costs you. To break even, you need to win often enough that those smaller wins cover the bigger losses. The formula is 1 ÷ (1 + payout). At 92%, that’s 1 ÷ 1.92, which gives you a breakeven win rate of 52.1%.
| Payout | You Win ($10 Trade) | You Lose ($10 Trade) | Win Rate Needed to Break Even |
|---|---|---|---|
| 92% | $9.20 | $10 | 52.1% |
| 85% | $8.50 | $10 | 54.1% |
| 80% | $8.00 | $10 | 55.6% |
| 75% | $7.50 | $10 | 57.1% |
| 60% | $6.00 | $10 | 62.5% |
Payouts drop on some assets and at some times of day, and when they do, the bar you have to clear goes up. That’s why I always check the payout right before I click. A strategy that makes money at 92% can quietly lose money at 75%, where you suddenly need to win 57.1% of the time.
I also want to be honest about the conflict of interest. Since Pocket Option earns when you lose, it has no reason to talk you out of overtrading. Keep that in mind when you see the achievements, tournaments, and bonuses I cover below.
Pocket Option Payouts (Regular Markets vs OTC)
Pocket Option lists over 100 assets, but a big chunk of them are OTC versions (you’ll see “OTC” next to the asset name). This is where I think most reviews are too kind.
On a regular asset like EUR/USD, the price follows the real market, so you can open TradingView and compare the chart yourself. OTC assets are what you trade on weekends and outside market hours, and their quotes aren’t public exchange prices that you can check anywhere else.
That doesn’t prove anything shady is going on. But it does mean you’re trusting the broker’s price completely on a platform where the broker earns when you lose. Payouts also move around more than you’d think. They can even change between opening the trade panel and clicking on buy or sell. So make sure to always check them before you enter a trade.
The Pocket Option Platform on Web and Mobile
The platform is where Pocket Option genuinely earns its reputation. You can trade in your browser, download the desktop app for Windows or macOS, or use the mobile app on Android and the iOS PWA.
Pretty much everything happens on one screen. You pick your asset, set the expiry and amount in the trade panel on the right, and click higher or lower. You get the usual chart types, popular indicators, drawing tools, and timeframes from 5 seconds up to 1 day.

Now, the things I like about the platform are speed (it’s pretty fast to execute and navigate), payout transparency, and, of course, a clean and intuitive layout. If you’ve traded a few times in your life, you’ll have no problem figuring out how the Pocket Option trading platform works.
But there are also some things that annoy me. The first one is that there are expirations under 1 minute. These are pretty much coin flips. You’re essentially gambling, and these timeframes push you to overtrade and lose your money quickly. Also, I don’t like the gamification that constantly tries to encourage you to trade more, including all the chests and tournament rewards.
You should be smart about trading on Pocket Option and always follow your rules. No matter what achievement you’ve unlocked or what bonus you can earn.
The mobile app mirrors the web platform. The same assets, indicators, and account history are available. I mostly use it for checking open trades on the go or see if the chart is approaching a key zone, and the notifications for closed trades are also handy. Still, I had some problems with notifications on the iPhone web app, as some notifications didn’t fire at all.

Deposits and Withdrawals (Including India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh)
Pocket Option’s payment methods change by country, so what you see in the cashier depends on where you’re logging in from. Here’s what to look for:
| Country | Local Methods | Available in Most Countries |
|---|---|---|
| India | UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm) | Visa/Mastercard, e-wallets, crypto |
| Pakistan | JazzCash, Easypaisa | Visa/Mastercard, e-wallets, crypto |
| Bangladesh | I could not verify native bKash, Nagad, or Rocket support. | Visa/Mastercard, e-wallets, crypto |
A few things I’d keep in mind before you fund your account:
- The $10 minimum isn’t universal. I’ve seen reviewers online claim that some methods in some regions have a higher minimum.
- “No fees” only means no fees from Pocket Option. So, your bank, your wallet, and the conversion from INR, PKR, or BDT to USD can still cost you.
- Check the network before sending crypto. USDT exists on several networks (TRC20, ERC20 and others), and sending on the wrong one can cost you the funds.
- Plan your withdrawal before you deposit, since withdrawals usually go back to the method you paid with. This is very important and is usually the source of many Pocket Option withdrawal issues.

Pocket Option Bonuses and Promos
Pocket Option runs deposit bonuses pretty regularly, and I have my own code on this site (APJ840 gives a 60% bonus). But I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t explain the catch first.
Bonus money comes with a turnover requirement. That means you have to place a certain volume of trades before you can withdraw. I mean, say you deposit $100 and get a 60% bonus, so your balance shows $160. If the requirement were 40 times the bonus (a made-up number to show the math, so check the real one), you’d need to place $2,400 worth of trades before withdrawing. And with a 52.1% breakeven rate, that much volume is exactly where most beginners lose their deposit.
I honestly advise that if you’re new, skip the bonus on your first deposit and keep your balance withdrawable until you know how you trade. If you’re experienced and you trade high volume anyway, a bonus can make sense. You’ll find the current codes, a turnover calculator, and other bonus terms on our Pocket Option promo codes page.
Pocket Option Copy Trading and Signals
Pocket Option has a built-in social trading feature. You open the leaderboard from the right sidebar, check a trader’s stats, and copy their trades automatically.

The problem is survivorship bias. The leaderboard shows the traders who are winning right now, not the ones who were on top last month and then blew their accounts. A 90% win rate over 20 trades tells you almost nothing.
If you use it, I’d check three things before copying anyone:
- How many trades they’ve placed, and over how long. You want hundreds of trades over months, not a hot week.
- Their trade sizes. Traders who risk a large amount per trade blow up eventually.
- Whether their results hold up week after week, or come from one lucky streak.
You can read more about this feature in our Pocket Option copy trading guide.
Pocket Option also gives you free signals on the platform and through its Telegram bot. I tested around 100 of them on demo over the past month, and they did not perform profitably, but a few users online claimed they can be useful as additional confirmation.

Whatever you do, never follow signals with real money before testing them on a demo account yourself. I’ve explained more about this feature in our Pocket Option signals review.
Pocket Option Demo Account
The Pocket Option demo is genuinely good. You get $50,000 in virtual money, which you can refill anytime. There’s also no time limit, so it’s not like a free trial. You can also open the demo trading platform without logging in or even registering.
I personally use it to test new strategies and to see how an asset behaves before I put real money on it. If you’re new, I’d spend a few weeks and a couple of hundred trades on demo before depositing. My Pocket Option demo guide walks you through setting it up.
But there’s also a serious limitation to every demo account. No paper trading or demo trading account can recreate the thing that ruins most traders, which is emotion. Losing $5,000 of virtual money feels nothing like losing $50 of your own. So, treat good demo results as a green light to start small, not as proof that your Pocket Option strategy works.
Pocket Option vs Quotex vs IQ Option vs Binomo
All four of these brokers pay me commissions, so I’ll be straight with you about where each one stands:
| Feature | Pocket Option | Quotex | IQ Option | Binomo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Licence | Offshore MISA licence only | Not licensed. Warnings from CONSOB and CNMV | CySEC-licensed EU entity (No. 247/14), plus a separate unregulated international entity | Not licensed. FinaCom membership is dispute resolution, not a licence |
| On RBI Alert List | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Minimum Deposit | $10 | $10 | $10 | $10 (Standard account) |
| Max Payout | Up to 92% | Up to 98% | Up to 95% | 84–85% on Standard, up to 90% on Gold/VIP (needs $500+ deposit) |
| Where It Beats Pocket Option | n/a | Higher published payouts and a longer clean operational track record, though it carries the same lack of top-tier regulation | The only one with a real CySEC-regulated entity, so EU-based traders get actual regulatory protection Pocket Option can’t offer | Not much. Same offshore-only licensing gap as Pocket Option, similar payouts, and its best rates are locked behind a $500+ deposit |
If you’re torn between the two most popular ones, I compare them in detail in Quotex vs Pocket Option. You can also read my full Binomo review or see every broker I’ve tested on my brokers page.
Pocket Option Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Fast, clean platform a beginner can learn in minutes | No top-tier regulation, only an offshore MISA licence |
| $10 minimum deposit and $1 minimum trade | On the RBI Alert List and flagged by regulators including the FCA and CFTC |
| Payouts up to 92% on popular assets | OTC prices can’t be checked against an independent market feed |
| Most of my withdrawals arrived within a few hours | Bonuses come with turnover rules that can lock your withdrawals |
| Free, unlimited demo account with $50,000 in virtual funds | Very short expiries and gamification push you to overtrade |
Final Verdict: Should You Use Pocket Option?
So, here’s where I land. Pocket Option has one of the smoothest platforms I’ve tested among offshore binary options brokers, and my withdrawals were paid within a few hours. But smooth isn’t the same as safe. There’s no top-tier regulator behind it, and if you’re in India, it’s on the RBI Alert List.
If regulated protection matters to you, look elsewhere. If you still want to try Pocket Option, start on the demo, skip the bonus on your first deposit, and keep that deposit small enough that losing it wouldn’t change your month.
